Kiss The Pig Fundraiser Update!

Lizzy McClelland, NRBC Director of Sports & Recreation "wins" the opportunity to kiss Wilbur.

The continued growth of our sports ministry has made it necessary to cosider major improvements to our fields, including grading, seeding and irrigation.

Our "Kiss the Pig" fundraiser helped us to raise approximately $5,200 towards the $60,000 projected costs for our field improvements.

Reminder of Rain Date for Awards Cookout

Just a reminder that if the Awards Cookout has to be re-scheduled due to rain, the Cookout will be moved to next Saturday, May 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Soccer Camp Date: July 26-29

NRBC's Upward Soccer Camp plans are underway! The date is set for July 26-29, 2010 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on the NRBC Recreation Fields for K4 - 8th Grade. We have added the 7th-8th grade divisions as a "test" to see if we have enough interest to add the new division to our Fall Soccer League. Brochures are now available at the office of Nansemond River Baptist Church between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Just a reminder that the Upward Awards Cookout is this Sunday, April 25 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on the NRBC Recreation Fields. Come for a fun time of fellowship, food and fun for the whole family! The Kiss-the-Pig Contest ends at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday .... get your votes in today.

Just wanted to remind you that this Saturday, April 17 is double-headers and free funnel cake day! Funnel cakes are planned to begin cooking at 11:30 a.m. Hotdogs and Nachos will also be available for purchase at the Concessions Stand.

Kiss-the-Pig, Fund the Field!

Pay $1 per vote to nominate your favorite coach, pastor, referee, or commissioner. The one with the most votes "wins" the opportunity to "Kiss the Pig" at the UPWARD Awards Celebration on Sunday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the NRBC Recreation Fields.

All proceeds go toward improvements to our recreation fields. Due to the continued growth of our sports ministry there is a need to make major improvements to our fields, including grading, seeding and irrigation.

The projected cost for these improvements are around $60, 000.

Your contribution to "Kiss the Pig, Fund the Field" will help us with these improvements!

Cheerleaders can attend any (and all) Workshops.

Reminder: PB&J Day!

Just a reminder that free PB&J Day (and pimento cheese for those allergic to peanut butter) is this Saturday, April 10 during Upward Games. This is a feeding drill/practice for NRBC's American Red Cross Disaster Relief Team. So...come hungry!
