Note to Upward Parents (8-25-12)

Good afternoon:

I hope everyone is staying dry during this nasty weather! I wanted to ensure that everyone is aware that our Upward Weather Notifications/Cancellations are always posted on our Upward blog: www.nrbcsportsandrec.blogspot.com. I've been told that there may have been a glitch with the blog, so I apologize if anyone showed up to Evaluations to find no one was present. You can also find notifications on the NRBC website (under Sports & Rec/Upward Sports). 

We were out setting up this morning to proceed with evaluations, but the downpours continued and after careful consideration, we decided to cancel today's evaluations and extend Monday's evaluations from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Please do not fret if you are unable to attend Monday's Evaluations. While we would like to have your child(ren) present, we are aware that this is a busy time of year. If you are in this situation, please just shoot me an email/give me a call so we can retrieve some other information needed to assemble our teams: lchristian@nansemondriver.org.

Also, I wanted to make you aware of a few dates to keep in mind as we begin our "kick-off" on Sat., September 8.

You should hear from a coach by Tues., September 4, but ALL teams will have a "meet and greet" practice (opportunity to give out jerseys, meet coaches, get to know team-mates, begin running a few drills, etc.) at 10:00 a.m. on Sat., September 8.

If you do not hear from a coach by Tues., September 4 - please give us a call at the church (757) 484-3423. 

Here are some other dates just to go ahead and mark your calendar:

-First Practice: Sat., September 8 (with weekly practices begin the week of September 10th)

-First Game:  Sat., September 22

-Picture Day: Sat., October 6

-Last Game: Sat., November 10

We are looking forward to a great season. We are still accepting new registrations through this Monday, August 27th --- so if you have any friends or family who may be interested, it's not too late.
